The founding of the ‘Vienna Mozartists’ in 2005 was an initiative by a few influential members of the Viennese musical scene. The ensemble plays the traditional repertoire of a chamber orchestra as well as contemporary music. Of great importance to the ensemble is the so-called Viennese style as well as the Austrian dialect.

The “Vienna Mozartists“ consist mainly of leading musicians from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

The director and conductor, Hans Peter Ochsenhofer, has been a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra for many years.  He is an experienced chamber-musician as well as Professor for Viola at the Musikhochschule Wien.
